If we could know the source of our daydreams, could we also know the nature of being?

Hello, I'm Joseph.

My journey with words gathered momentum in 2014, though the spark came much earlier. I remember drawing with a No. 2 pencil, its yellow paint scuffed from sharpening, the eraser worn nearly flat from undoing lines until it threatened to cut through the drawing. Lost over sheets of white paper, I would concentrate on imagined scenes, absorbed in quiet contemplation. That habit never faded; it simply deepened into a practice of expression.

Since then, words have arrived quietly and settled beside my pulse, finding form as restless notes, lingering feelings, and verses hovering between lyrical prose and reflective musings. Each line drifts like a thought not yet finished; pulling toward something I can't quite name. Sometimes, in that unfinished space, a door opens you didn't know was there. Meaning itself, I've learned, isn't only what we write or express: it's how a feeling or idea, when explored, can create new worlds. This fascination guides every piece I shape and each idea I pursue.

Early on, my writing and artwork came in flashes; clarity followed by long, quiet intervals. I found that truth lives in the creation itself, not the tool: whether sketch, note, or photograph, it requires only presence and attention. Eventually those moments steadied into a rhythm, and my reflections, verses, and images merged into a consistent practice. Art mirrors the depths of awareness, the subtleties of feeling, and the ever-shifting world around us. Guided by a fascination with philosophy and existence, I explore, reflect, and create.

Writing remains my primary mode of expression, but this space also serves as a visual gallery for sketches and photographs: another lens through which I view the world. It is a journal of explorations, where I trace the interplay between personal experience and our understanding of existence. Here, you'll find works touching on love, identity, meaning, and the passing of life. My style shifts between reflective musings and philosophical inquiry, inviting you to ponder alongside me. Each entry unfolds in its own rhythm, unbound by order or curation.

These creative pursuits and this space transform moments, memories, and insights into lasting expression. I write and create not as a professional, but as a means of preserving my own clarity and sanity. And though I strive to keep my work tidy, I remain a work in progress, an ink-stained Earthling, always evolving.

Thank you for being here.

How boehler.studio is organized:

The newest posts always sit at the top of the blog's home page, with ten entries per page. The "Older posts" button loads the next set. The list follows the date I publish, often not the date I actually wrote the piece. Some verses were composed months or even years before I decided to share them, while others are created within a couple of weeks from when they were published. Regardless, they all take time before being ready, and are themselves published in no particular order.

Themed and descriptive tags don't determine where a post lands in the feed. If a entry carries a tag Love, Experience, or Ideas, you'll find it wherever it happens to sit in the flow of the blog. A handful of entries are tagged as a Letters (these pieces are written as personal correspondence). Some others carry Notes, where I add insight on the corresponding work. Selecting one of these tags will collect and show other posts with the same tag.

Published entries are paired with my visual artwork. The artwork sometimes relates to my written work, but they don't always. Sometimes I just liked how they looked together.
To protect the original pieces, all visual artwork on this website is shown at a reduced resolution.

Thanks for spending time here. If my work resonates, consider subscribing to my newsletter—a casual recap of what's new, a few highlights at a time.
