Chromatic Reverie
Chromatic Reverie
by M. Joseph Boehler
never have i seen such truthful colors—
when our unclothed bodies slipped through the water,
the honey-yellow light fell,
upon your glistening shoulders,
emerald eyes shimmering,
above a glowing grin.
you blushed an honest red,
and i dissolved within.

Author's Note: This poem expresses colors becoming a language of truth. The dash signifies a deep breath before the plunge, into the honey-sweetness of the present moment, the beckoning emerald of uncharted depths, and the honest red of flushed vulnerability. These each illuminate apart of ourselves we often conceal. By shedding our layers and gliding into sensations, I wanted to focus on a dreamlike surrender that follows true intimacy: a quiet erasure of boundaries, leaving only the echoes of shared wonder.
